Before you turn yourself into a nervous wreck, relax! There are a few quick things to consider when getting started with Crossfit.
First, what are your personal goals and why are you interested in Crossfit in the first place? Taking time to reflect and answer this question in a deep and meaningful manner will play a large role in your success as a Crossfitter.
Second, what do you feel is currently missing or needed to achieve your goals? Personal training? Nutrition counselling? Technique and programming? Community and motivation? Planning and accountability? All of the above? Don’t worry, it’s the same with most people
Third, what budget do you have to work with? And if your budget is tight, where might you cut cost in other areas of your life to invest in life long healthy lessons of how to train, exercise, move, and eat correctly. Investing in personal training can seem costly at first, be sure to communicate to yourself that the cost is temporary while the lessons and learning will last a lifetime. If you feel you simply “can’t afford” it, then look to the online resources we supply here free of charge and let us know when circumstances change
Fourth, Keep in mind that Crossfit has worked with hundreds of thousands of people all over the world and it will work for you as well. Whether elite athlete, couch potato, or average Jane / Joe, Crossfit can be scaled to accommodate all walks of life and there is no prerequisite of fitness level to getting started.
