Nutrition

We all know it starts with what you eat and the exercises we choose to do are just part of your overall health.  CrossFit prescribes a Paleo/Zone diet.

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar.

Protein should be lean and varied and account for about 30% of your total caloric load.
Carbohydrates
should be predominantly low-glycemic and account for about 40% of your total caloric load.
Fat should be predominantly monounsatuarated and account for about 30% of your total caloric load.

Keep a food journal.  Try it for two weeks and you will be amazed at what you are putting into your body.  Write down how you feel after a workout and compare that to what you ate through out the day.  Learn how to use food as fuel rather than just eating senselessly. Keep healthy foods close and easily accessible so making better decisions becomes easier.

Make sure you drink plenty of water and stay well hydrated before and after you workout.

Replenish your sugar stores after an intense workout.  Bring a serving of apple sauce with some cinnamon sprinkled on it to the gym and eat shortly after finishing your workout.  Eat a good meal high in protein and good fats within the next hour or so.

Meal plans will be available in the next couple of months.  We have our Head Chef working on a Paleo Menu, made to order.

Supplements will also be available for sale in the summer.
